The Consumer Generated Advertising Revolution

I have been blogging since January 2006, and it has overall been a great experience. I have met a ton of great people, some sucky people, and have had a great opportunity to release some frustrations and let my opinions be known.

I have to admit that I started blogging just for the money. WritingUp.com offered to host my blog and allow me to display my Adsense ads, which would not only fulfill my new year’s resolution of writing more, but would also help build up some passive income. The writing more aprt has worked great…the whole Adsense thing has not quite paid off, but my Adsense account is certainly growing.

At some point in my blogging travels, I discovered a company called Blogitive that would pay me $5 per post to add a specific sponsored link to my blog entries. No problem, right? Easy money. And yes, it is. I have made a few hundred bucks off of it, and continue to receive offers. The only problem is that there are a limited number of opportunities available, so the amount of money that I make is entirely contingent upon how many opportunities are available in a week.

Last week, I discovered PayPerPost.com from a friend on WritingUp.com, and signed up immediately. I am happy to report that my blog has been approved, and I am now able to post whatever advertisements are available up to three a day. Plus they offer different priced opportunities, so I can pick and choose based upon how much they will pay me.

Between Blogitive and PayPerPost, the average blogger can become a mini media mogul. This truly is a consumer generated advertising revolution, making advertising revenue available to the normal webizen. No, you’re not going to get rich, but these two companies can certainly help you supplement your monthly income. Plus, if you’re money motivated like me, you may tend to write more if you can make money blogging.

If you would like more information on either of these companies, drop me a line and I’ll send you a link. Or, when you sign up, be sure to tell them that lpferris sent you. Thanks!
