As if Dennis Prager couldn’t get any more offensive…

Dennis Prager, in a recent dipshit story on townhall.com, expresses outrage that Keith Ellison will take his Congressional oath on the Koran and not the Bible as has been tradition in the past. In possibly the most ignorant and intolerant statement of tthis century, Prager states:

“Ellison’s doing so will embolden Islamic extremists and make new ones, as Islamists, rightly or wrongly, see the first sign of the realization of their greatest goal — the Islamicization of America.”

Are you fucking kidding me? For piss sake, I would rather have a public servant taking his oath on something he believes in and has a spiritual loyalty to, rather than on just some book that everyone has used just because of tradition.

Prager also states that “for all of American history, Jews elected to public office have taken their oath on the Bible.” Well yeah, that’s true, especially if you realize that all of the Neo-Cons are actually Jewish even though they pretend to be “Christian.” Prager also says that:

“Nor has one Mormon official demanded to put his hand on the Book of Mormon. And it is hard to imagine a scientologist being allowed to take his oath of office on a copy of “Dianetics” by L. Ron Hubbard.”

Look, it’s not the American People’s problem if Congresspersons decide to sell out their religion for the sake of Prager’s alleged “tradition.” Congresspersons and other public servants should swear their oath on whatever they believe in. That would sure as hell make me feel better about putting my trust in them. Although I am not a religious person, I have no trust or respect for anyone who will sell out their religion in favor of “tradition.”

Can’t we just settle the fuck down, and let people believe what they believe? Why are we so threatened when someone a little different comes along and wants to practice their beliefs? Seriously, the guy’s name is Keith Ellison…he doesn’t even have a scary sounding name for fuck sake! Leave the guy alone, and let him do his fucking job on his terms.
