It’s like pulling fucking teeth…

It’s amazing what the CSU system gets away with. It’s like pulling fucking teeth to get our dear Chancellor to give up any sort of employee compensation at all, despite the pile of new requirements and responsibilities that get heaped on CSU staff every year.

There’s a lot of history behind this, but because the state of California didn’t fund an extra 1% increase in funding for the CSU system, the union was forced to re-bargain. The Chancellor’s officce hass once again proven themselves a pain in the ass, and has rejected the union’s very fair proposal.

It’s like this every fucking year, and has been for every year that I have been a staff member. I have been here eight years, and am still at the very bottom of the pay scale for my classification. It really is a bunch of crap.

But what am I going to do? I’m here at work, and all I can do is bitch about it. Oh well, I guess that’s part of the delight of a nice secure state job…or something like that.
