The buzz lately is that the Democrats will indeed sweep the elections this year, and will regain control of Congress. How true is this, though? I can think of a few unfortunately factors that make me wary, and I will show little surprise if the Dems don’t manage a win this year.
Among those factors are true to the core GOP Americans. These folks will not sway from their deep dedication to The Lord and the GOP no matter what. They’re the dumbshits who are keeping Bush’s approval ratings as high as they are. Yeah that’s what I said, “As high as they are.”
Another factor is the Democrats’ inherent defeatist attitude. Because of it, they have failed to truly unite and still have very little unity in the party. Groups like moveon.org and Democracy Now! have done their damnedest to bring some unity into the party, but from what I have seen it just ain’t working.
My worst fear though, is Diebold. Despite their claims that they have uploaded a patch to all voting machines to clean up the Clinton Curtis vote switcher, reports are still coming in that these machines are not tamper-proof. The number of security risks to these Diebold machines is staggering, and could certainly result in less than accurate results in a number of counties.
This is not to say that you shouldn’t vote though. I would argue that the threat of the Diebold machines reporting inaccurate results will keep Democrats from even hitting the polls “since their votes won’t be counted anyway.” Don’t believe the hype. Vote on paper, and if you have no other choice vote on a Diebold machine and bring a camcorder with you to record your vote. But no matter what you do, get out there are vote!
