If you follow any kind of modern conspiracy theories, you have most likely run into Alex Jones. He is a radio host, website proprietor, documentary writer and producer, and executive producer of Loose Change: Final Cut. In short, Alex Jones is probably the most well known and prolific of conspiracy theorists.
I have always been a bit turned off by Mr. Jones’ alarmist nature, but have been able to get past it because of the useful information that he produces. His last documentary, Terrorstorm, had some great information and was very well done. Unfortunately his latest effort, Endgame, doesn’t quite hit the mark, and instead comes across as a conservative propaganda film using conspiracy theories to back up Christian conservative agendas.
Endgame details the plans of the global elite to unify the world under a global government (specifically detailing the current step in process to create a North American Union), and the effort by the global elite to decrease the earth’s population significantly. In backing up these claims, Mr. Jones attacks everyone from environmental groups to Planned Parenthood.
Mr. Jones claims that the global elite want to decrease the population, centralize the remaining population by moving everyone out of rural areas and into urban areas, and reforest the reclaimed parts of the country. In this part of the film, environmental conservation groups are attacked, and global warming is strongly denied. Mr. Jones claims that both are a part of the conspiracy, and that they truly don’t have what’s best in mind for the population. It’s certainly an interesting spin.
In this same section of the film, Mr. Jones attacks Planned Parenthood, claiming that they are just out to abort babies and help decrease the population in that way. He does talk about the origins of Planned Parenthood, but I was not sold on his argument.
I’m certainly not saying not to see the movie. It’s worthwhile, and should be viewed at least for data mining purposes. But Endgame definitely doesn’t live up to what I normally expect of Mr. Jones.
