al-Maliki snubs Bush…sounds like a smart guy to me.

ABC News has reported that Iraqi Prime Minister al-Maliki cancelled his presence at a trilateral meeting with King Abdullah of Jordan and President Bush. The meeting was scheduled to address the increasing and ongoing insurgent violence in Iraq.

It is assumed that Prime Minister al-Maliki’s cancellation was largely due to the leaking of a National Security Agency memo questioning his ability to deal with the sectarian violence. I can’t say I blame him at all. What right does the NSA have to question al-Maliki’s abilities when it’s our troops in Iraq being led by our Commander in Chief who aren’t getting the job done? It’s not like it’s even al-Maliki making the decisions of how to handle this.

I am consistently amazed at how badly our government has fucked up Iraq, and continues to shift the blame. I really hope that we can make things right, I just have no idea what we can do to redeem what we have done in the last three years.
