Barack Obama’s speech on race

In case you haven’t yet seen it, I would highly recommend checking out Barack Obama’s speech yesterday on race in the United States. Although it seems many people just wanted him to use this opportunity to dismiss and distance himself from the controversial Jeremiah Wright, Obama did the right thing and used this opportunity to talk about how we can move this country forward in a progressive manner.

I’m glad he didn’t just dismiss the issues that Jeremiah Wright has received such a bad reputation over. Who can deny that there is a lot of anger in black America? After centuries of unjust treatment by the establishment, who wouldn’t be mad? And if you think that black America isn’t still treated poorly, just take a look at the government response to Hurricane Katrina.
