Search engine optimization (SEO) is a complex process to say the least. In order to effectively optimize your website for Google’s robots and their counterparts, there are many different things you need to understand.
One of the most important things in SEO is understanding how Google’s algorithm works, and how you can take advantage of it to increase your link popularity. Google’s algorithm is also more complex than the other search engines but if you concentrate on Google when optimizing your website and building link popularity you will be much better off.
For a long time, page rank was very important in Google’s algorithm, and had a lot of effect on how Google would determine your site’s popularity and placement in its search results. These days however, link popularity is much more important than page rank. Page rank is still important, but what Google really looks for now are links pointing to your website from many different sources on the internet.
I hope this helps a little bit. For more information, check out USWeb.com.

I have just launched a new website dedicated to teaching people how to make money online in a variety of different ways. In basic blog format, I will review and discuss the many ways that I am currently making money online. I will rate them on a scare of one to five stars on three categories, “Fast,” “Easy,” and “Money.”
The site is located at http://www.fasteasymoneyonline.info. I invite you to visit the site, and please let me know what you think. Any input, comments, criticism, whatever, is appreciated. Currently I’m working on the “Blogging for Dollars” series, which should be beneficial to bloggers everywhere.

I have just been reading an ebook about Internet marketing. I am not even all the way through, but am truly amazed with all the information that I have already gained. The ebook is called “High Performance Affiliate Marketing” and is a “how-to” guide focusing on how you can make money online as a super affiliate.
I have been doing business on the Internet for a while now, but this book has opened my eyes to an amazing number of online resources and ideas about how to put them to use to make money even if you don’t know anything about web design or HTML. This book also has great ideas about search engine optimization and proper use of AdWords and other keyword marketing resources.
If you are at all interested in making money online, check this book out. I’m pretty sure it will change my online marketing success, and it can help yours too.

Lately I have been trying to make my website more search engine friendly, and have begun a home-grown SEO process based upon free information on the Internet. I had not really seen any huge benefits up until today, but I’m happy to say that my erfforts are working out.
The way I know is that I finally got my first blog comment spam message, which pretty much tells me that the spambots are hitting my site finally, which I assume also means that the Google bots are also hitting my site more frequently now. Looks like it’s time to turn on Akismet on liamferris.com too now. Woo hoo, what a way to start a Friday! Success!!

Today and tomorrow, I am attending CALWAC 2, a conference about web accessibility. I have so far attended two classes, one on the basics of web accessibility, and one about CSS. Both were awesome, and I’m really looking forward to the follow-up classes tomorrow. I’ll share more information when I have the time.
Although I have to run, I wanted to share a quick tip that I got from both classes today that can benefit everyone who has a blog or website. It just so happens that by making your site Section 508 compliant, you automatically optimize your site for some of the most important deaf and blind users on the Internet…search engines.
Think about it…Google is both deaf and blind. Google has no idea what your image is unless you use the right “alt” tag. Also, by making your site compliant, you make the text in your site that much easier for Google to catalog and organize your content. This is good for everyone.
Anyway, I’ll be back with more tips soon. I thought that all of you would appreciate that little tidbit though. I know it’s going to help me plenty.
