As you may have heard, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York has decided that “If President Bush and Vice President Cheney can blurt out vulgar language, then the government cannot punish broadcast television stations for broadcasting the same words in similarly fleeting contexts,” (New York Times, June 5, 2007).
“Hollywood will be able to say anything they want, whenever they want,” protested F.C.C. Chairman Kevin J. Martin in response to the court’s ruling.
Decimating the Constitution, anyone? Does anyone really believe in that “damned piece of paper” anymore? Both Democrats and Republicans within the F.C.C. that fought for the tougher rules against vulgarities on television obviously have no interest in preserving free speech, and I’m glad that they were handed the ruling that they were. Bravo to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York for having the courage to make such a groundbreaking decision in a time that is obviously not friendly to such liberal ideas.

I don’t know if anyone else shares my utter fear of Rudy Giuliani. If you aren’t scared as shit of this guy, you should be. If he wins the presidency, the ass raping that Bush has given the United States for the past six years will feel good compared to what Giuliani will do.
I don’t even know where to start talking about this guy. What a fucking freak. Take the Republican debates last night for instance. When aked to answer a question about pardoning Scooter Libby with a simple yes or no, Giuliani went on a minute long diatribe describing his decision making process in granting pardons, and arguing for a pardon for the sick bastard. So not only can Giuliani not follow directions, he also supports a pardon for a government official who directly endangered the life of a civilian. Yes friends, that is exactly what the outing of Valerie Plame’s identity did.
But yeah, if Giuliani wins, the American people will get what they deserve. I hate to say it, but if the American People can’t see through the fog of bullshit that these neocon fucks have been spewing from their bullshit fog machine for the past six years, then maybe the country shouldn’t survive (which is exactly what will happen if Giuliani wins). I hate to say that because I love this country, and still give the American People the benefit of the doubt and think that they really have just been fed this shit for so long that they don’t know what tastes good anymore, but I’m losing faith.
We can do this though, friends. We just need to speak up and make our voices heard. Ninety nine percent of the potential candidates for President are full of shit…maybe even one hundred. But we need to figure out who is the best for our country, and who will really save us from this unbelieveable plight in which we have found ourselves.

I am normally a very tolerant person. I try not to expect too much of people, which tends to cut down on my irritation factor when I run into idiots. Yesterday was a bad one though. I came across some idiots that just boggled my mind as to how stupid people are. Some people anyway. Especially people in retail shopping situations.
Theese idiots I ran into were two girls in their early 20’s. They were at the Target just down the street from a major university, so I assume that they have at least some post-high school education. Anyway, I was driving through the parking lot, and noticed that these two girls were waiting to cross the street. Being the nice person that I am, I stopped for them and signaled to them to go ahead. They saw me, and began to cross. Right in front of my car though, one of them stopped, bent down, and was looking at something on the ground.
OK, I understand that maybe it was a quarter or something, but that would be easy to deal with. You pick it up, put it in your pocket, and continue. But no. This girl says something to the other girl, and then the other girl bends over and starts looking at whatever it is. They were obviously having a conversation about it as they were looking at it, but ended up deciding it was nothing, so continued across the parking lot. No wave, not even a gesture to suggest that I was there and that they had taken advantage of my generosity in waiting for their dumb asses.
So maybe this isn’t stupidity. Maybe it’s selfishness. That wouldn’t be surprising either. But no matter what it is, it is all too prevalent here in the good old USA.

Dennis Miller, a newly elected Republican from Arkansas, recently stated
At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001 ], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country.
Maybe it’s just me, but this is wrong on so many levels. First of all, how does a new attack on our own citizens proce that Bush’s failed anti-terror policies are actually working? Wouldn’t that prove that his policies are distinctly not working?
More importantly, this says to me that our lives as American citizens are merely tools for the advancement of the policies that these freaks desire. Just the fact that Mr. Miller would suggest anything like another 9/11 actually doing anything to benefit the Republican cause is absolutely outrageous, and the fact that he would say anything like that shows what sick fucks these guys really are.

Today, May 15, 2007, famed ignorant conservative Christian dictator of Christianity has passed away at the tender age of 73. That’s right friends, Jerry Falwell kicked the bucket. Or kicked the chalice (that’s a little bit of religious imagery for you paying attention). Since we shouln’t speak ill of the dead, I’ll keep my comments brief.
What will happen to homosexuals, children born out of wedlock, women who have children out of wedlock, people who support a woman’s right to choose (let alone those who actually have abortions), stem cell researchers and supporters, feminists, liberals, and Larry Flynt possibly do without Jerry Falwell in the world to criticize and demonize their every move? To tell you the truth, I don’t know. Maybe they will be able to spend more time fighting for their causes than fighting off the Moral Majority.
So rest in peace Reverend Falwell. You will be missed, but not by many.

True to form, American Hero and All Around Great Guy and Presidential Hopeful Rudy Giuliani has been caught lying about what happened on September 11, 2001. Again.
At an April 19th event at the Oklahoma Museum and National Memorial, Giuliani was asked if he expected the twin towers to collapse on 9/11. In response, good old Rusy said:
Yeah, but not in the way they did.
It occurred to us all that they might ultimately collapse over….the way buildings usually collapse, which is in stages.
It looked like at some point the top of the building would come off, and then maybe the middle of the building and then maybe there’d be a shell left….the way number 7 came down 4 or 5 o’clock in the afternoon - over a period of time - but the idea that it would implode, the implosion that took place, I actually didn’t realize that until much later.
I mean, am I the only one who can’t fucking believe this guy? First of all, he is saying that he predicted that two — yes, TWO — steel frame buildings would collapse after being hit by planes, even though a steel frame building had never before collapsed due to fire. EVER. That’s some serious understanding of mechanical engineering and physics you have, Rudy. So that’s lie number one.
Lie number two is “…the way number 7 came down 4 or 5 o’clock in the afternoon - over a period of time.” Yeah, thing about that is that WTC 7 absolutely did not come down over a period of time. Unless you consider “a period of time” to be approximately seven seconds. (Which technically it is, but that ain’t what My Man Rudy was talking about).
So if, somehow, our government, and some seriously powerful folk on the inside, didn’t have anything to do with 9/11, why all the lies? Why does the story of what happened on that awful day get more and more convoluted the more the neocons tell it? Why make shit up and tell lies if there’s nothing to hide?
I sincerely hope that the accusations are not true, and that 9/11 really was just a terrorist act. But the more and more I learn, and the more lies that are told, the more I realize that it’s just not possible.

Who knows if this is true, but who really cares? It has been reported on a number of websites that Nancy Pelosi is taking a phone poll to gauge interest in the impeachment of Bush and Cheney. It has also been suggested that this may not be true, and that Ms. Pelosi may actually be officially conducting a poll, and that this is an Internet “hoax.”
Who really cares though? Our representatives don’t need to conduct a formal poll for us to contact them with our concerns. It is our job as citizens to contact them with our concerns, and if a viral effort like this is what it takes to get people to speak up, then so be it.
So call Nancy Pelosi’s office at 1-202-225-0100. All you need to say is “I wish to register my support for the impeachment of Bush and Cheney.” Be friendly. The person at the other end of the line is not the one making the decision, and is more likely to convey your message accurately if you are pleasant. They are receiving a huge number of calls today, and the poor person answering the phone is probably worn out. So like I said, BE NICE. But be sure to call. DO IT NOW!

As you have probably noticed in the past few days, I’m a big fan of Mike Gravel. I truly hope he follows through and sees this race out to the end, even if he has to run as an Independant. Anyway, MSNBC, in their never ending quest for journalistic integiry, has decided to leave Mike out of their poll because he was “rude.” In their own words:
“We’re not ranking Mike Gravel… This guy’s not just a third-tier longshot, he might be a little, um, off. Seriously, he was downright rude. Why should anyone agree to appear on stage with him? And why should any mainstream Democratic group invite him?”
Are you serious, MSNBC? Is that really how the game is played these days? Is that what you consider journalistic integrity? You just leave a candidate (arguably the only one who’s actually going to make things better) out of your bullshit poll because you deem him “rude”?
To make things worse, about their lowest ranked candidate is Dennis Kucinich (arguably the other guy who might actually change things) they ask “But, Dennis, why did you have to be the one to break the rules? It’s silly.”
It’s “silly” to break the rules? What in the fuck country am I living in? I thought this was the United States of America, where the free thinkers were praised, and where the spirit of individuality was a good thing? Apparently that’s not what this country is about anymore. And that makes me very sad.

Yesterday, the Washington Post reported that the Vatican has spoken out against an Italian comedian who criticized the Pope, calling it in no uncertain terms, “terrorism.”
“This, too, is terrorism. It’s terrorism to launch attacks on the Church,” it said. “It’s terrorism to stoke blind and irrational rage against someone who always speaks in the name of love, love for life and love for man.”
There are so many things wrong with that statement that I’m ot sure exactly where to begin. First of all, it absolutely IS NOT “terrorism” to launch verbal attacks against the Catholic Church. It may not make the Pope happy, but it is certainly not terrorism. If criticizing someone is terrorism, then 72% of American Citizens are terrorists for their criticisms of George W. Bush and Dickhead Cheney.
Second, the Pope does not “always (speak) in the name of love.” What about the Catholic Church’s distaste for homosexuals? I can’t say that I have ever heard the Pope speak a loving, much less kind, word about homosexuals. And that’s just one issue.
One of this this Italian comedian’s statements that so infuriated the Church was this: “The Pope says he doesn’t believe in evolution. I agree, in fact the Church has never evolved.”
Can you really argue with that? Honestly, the most progressive thing that the Catholic Church has done in the past who knows how many years is to pardon Galileo, and admit that his execution was a mistake. Good work, Pope. Goooood work. Heaven forbid (haha) that the Pope actually help the Catholic Church evolve, and maybe change some things up a bit to make the world a better place.
How about changing the Church’s stance on birth control for example? That would do wonders for people in underdeveloped overpopulated countries like Mexico. Imagine what a difference it would make in these peoples’ lives if they were encouraged to use birth control instead of being told they would go to hell for it. They could actually control the size of their families, and lead a better life because of it.
Everyone has a right to criticize anyone they want to. As soon ass verbal criticism becomes an act of terrorism, we all become enemy combatants. And we all know that won’t be pretty.

I don’t think that there has ever been a man more evil than Bill Kristol. Seriously, I don’t. Every time I see his smug face and that cheap grin that he gets when he talks about people dying, my skin just crawls. I know that a lot of people think the Dubya is evil, and yeah he’s pretty fucking bad but he’s no Bill Kristol.
On Crooks and Liars there’s a video of good old Bill Kristol getting reamed by a military wife on C-SPAN. She talks about how she only gets 2 hours of sleep a night, has nightmares about her husband, and how her elementary school aged kids freeze up whenever the doorbell rings. And what does BK have to say about it? Not a whole damned lot, except to say that it supports his argument for a larger military.
I honestly think that this man has no heart. At all. I’m not sure who took it from him, or if he was just born without one, but holy shit is he a nasty man. Just had to get that off my chest.
