Movie Review: Alex Jones’ Endgame

If you follow any kind of modern conspiracy theories, you have most likely run into Alex Jones. He is a radio host, website proprietor, documentary writer and producer, and executive producer of Loose Change: Final Cut. In short, Alex Jones is probably the most well known and prolific of conspiracy theorists.

I have always been a bit turned off by Mr. Jones’ alarmist nature, but have been able to get past it because of the useful information that he produces. His last documentary, Terrorstorm, had some great information and was very well done. Unfortunately his latest effort, Endgame, doesn’t quite hit the mark, and instead comes across as a conservative propaganda film using conspiracy theories to back up Christian conservative agendas.

Mike Gravel at the debates last night

It’s about damn time someone in politics started talking some sense. Mike Gravel keeps impressing me, and even if he doesn’t get the nomination, he’s still doing the best he can to get essential information and ideas out into the public mind.

Mike Gravel isn’t scared of calling other Democrats out on their mistakes and denial of those mistakes. In this clip from the debates last night, he states what everyone is thinking (or at least should be thinking) but is too scared to speak out loud: That no Democrat who voted for the Iraq war deserves to be President.

If the American people are serious about getting out of Iraq, we need to elect someone who is equally serious about it. Mike Gravel has proven his ability to get out of tricky war situations with his track record during Vietnam. Anyone who doubts his ability to get us out of Iraq (arguably the most important task for our next President) hasn’t done their homework.

Step out of your comfort zone, go for the underdog, and support Mike Gravel.

Quick props to Karen Kwiatkowski

I was just watching “Why We Fight” today for the second time, and was once again stricken with the well spoken and intelligent Karen Kwiatkowski. Although she aligns with the Libertarian point of view, which I only partially agree with, her insight into what is going on in our government today is valuable for anyone willing to listen with an open mind.

Karen Kwiatkowski is a retired Air Force colonel who has first hand knowledge of exactly what goes on in the shady halls of the Pentagon. In fact, before she retired she worked in the Pentagon before, on, and after 9/11/2001. She knows exactly what our current regime is up to and why, and is not at all scared to talk about it.

Since I can’t really offer any information not available at other online resources, I’m just going to offer a few links to Colonel Kwiatkowski’s writing and to her Wikipedia entry. Check her out, she really will open your mind. In fact, her writing is perfect for my Meet In the Middle idea. She can open up your mind without conspiracy theories that alot of people just can’t handle yet, but still outs the evil tendencies of the Bush Regime.

Yeah, so check out Colonel Kwiatkowski’s information. It really will open your eyes.

Essential tax day viewing

What better way to celebrate the day on which all American Citizens (most, anyway) bend over to take it from good old dirty Uncle Sam than by watching Aaron Russo’s America: Freedom to Fascism? If you haven’t seen it, it is worth watching. If you have seen it, you know what I’m talking about.

Like many political agendas that I discuss here, this is neither a liberal nor conservative issue. This is an issue of the American People getting fucked illegally by our government. So take a look at this, and celebrate tax day by asserting your rights not to get fucked.

My condolences to Virginia Tech, and some predictions for the future

I realize that I’m a bit late getting on this, but it has taken me quite some time to get my thoughts together. A cousin of mine is actually on the faculty there, so it hit home a bit. She’s fine though.

I really don’t know what drives a person to this extreme sort of acting out. I think it takes a seriously deranged or damaged mind to think of this sort of action. My condolences go out to the families of all of the victims. This is something that no family should go through.

With that said, let’s talk about the national state of mind. Of course instantly people screamed “TERRORISM!” It’s the classic post-9/11 American reaction. “Big rig overturned on Interstate 10…but we have no reason to suspect terrorism at this point.”

I’ll tell you right now: TERRORISTS, or CIA operatives, whatever you want to call them, do not go to college campuses and shoot people. They detonate roadside bombs, or hijack airplanes. They do not cause big rigs to overturn on interstate highways either, but that’s beside the point. EVERY EVENT IS NOT TERRORISM, GODDAMMIT. “Sounds like a classic case of terrorism.” No, it fucking doesn’t.

I will make an audacious prediction however. I work on a college campus, and fully expect that sometime in the near future this event will be used to remove some or many of the freedoms that we enjoy on my campus and on campuses all over the US. I’m not going to call foul and say this was a government conspiracy or something like that (remember, CIA operatives - err, terrorists - don’t pull shit like this). But I am going to guarantee that our government is going to use the fuck out of this tragedy to steal even more civil liberties…and American citizens will thank them for it.

Discouraged, me? Yeah, I’m discouraged. The words “lost faith in American citizens’ ability to think rationally” comes somewhat close to describing it.

Safety and security - what is it good for?

Hardly a minute goes by when you are not bombarded by the word “terrorist,” “terrorism,” or some permutation thereof. We are also constantly bombarded by the need for “safety” and “security.” Whether it’s online security, home security, financial security or whatever, we are being sold the idea that we are currently not secure, and must but “X” product to gain security.

Even worse, when we’re talking about personal security and national security, we aren’t even required to purchase anything. We’re just expected to give up our most valuable asset to gain personal security - our freedom.

And who says that security and safety are all that great anyway? I mean yes, to a certain extent they are necessary, but isn’t a little unpredictability in life exciting? I think so, and I personally am willing to give up some safety and security to maintain that excitement and make life worthwhile.

I’ll be writing more on this, and will hopefully start a new website focused on this once my thoughts are better put together. Related posts will be tagged with “Meet in the Middle.”

Fear and loathing in the United States

I have been thinking a lot lately about how the elite in the United States and other parts of the world have really latched onto the propagation of fear as a tactic for keeping their subjects suppressed. I would like to chat a little bit about that before boarding my plane.

If you have read my blog at all, you know my stance on 9/11. I’ve done the research (unlike Tom Cruise) and strongly believe in my opinion. However, I also believe that it is time to get beyond trying to convince everyone that it was indeed an inside job. Not that I’m going to stop fighting that fight, I’m just going to start fighting it a different way.

So instead, how about we all meet in between. I mean, most US Citizens believe that GWB sucks, and a large number of Citizens also recognize that we are being controlled by fear. I propose that we all agree to disagree on the subject of 9/11, and agree to all recognize its widespread misuse and abuse by those in power.
