I am absolutely sick of the crappy, unedited writing that makes its way onto major news websites. I’m not sure what kind of jackholes places like CNN and ABC have writing for them, but damn is there some crap out there.
For example, today’s main headline on ABC7.com (ABC’s Los Angeles affiliate) was “Police Investigating Fatal Accident, 1 Dead.” OK, that’s fine. Let’s move on.
First of all, there is no location mentioned in the whole article, other than “Baseline and California.” I can only assume that they’re talking about somewhere around Rancho Cucamonga or something, but have no way to know that for sure. Haven’t newspapers been putting a location at the beginning of their articles for at least 100 years? How hard is it to translate that to the web?
Second, let’s talk about spelling. The very first sentence in the story is “An inncocent bi-standard is dead this morning following what police believe was a street race that veered into oncoming traffic.”
Now I don’t know about you, but I have no idea what the hell a “bi-standard” is. I would even argue that not even the best spell checker in the world hass any idea what a bi-standard is. Looking a little closer, we realize that there wasn’t a spell checker anywhere near this article. Just the use of the word “inncocent” proves that much.
I am not a spelling genius, and I am not the best about editing and correcting the spelling mistakes on this here blog. But this blog also isn’t run by a billion dollar corporation, and I’m not getting paid a nice salary to write articles that get featured on the front page unlike this jackhole at ABC7.com.
Yes, it’s petty. But I’m a little pissed that I spent five years in a creative writing program and some jackhole is writing shoddy web copy. At least I can find solace in the fact that “the thrid driver is being questioned.”
Yes, so I have been blabbing about PayPerPost.com and how I make money blogging with them for quite some time now. And I know you’re probably sick of hearing about how I make five bucks here or seven bucks there for posting for their advertisers that interest me. You may think that you’re above all that, and that your blog gets way too much traffic to give advertisers a bargain like that.
Well guess what? PayPerPost.com has recently posted some BIG MONEY opportunities for high traffic blogs. I’m talking serious money for a little bit of blogging. All you need to do is pick an opportunity that fits your blog, disclose that it’s a paid post, and make cold hard cash straight into your PayPal account.
I also want to mention that even of your blog doesn’t get crazy amounts of traffic, it’s still possible to make good money blogging about the things you love. Sign up for PayPerPost today, and start making money blogging!
As a webmaster/blogger/Internet addict/business guy, I am constantly looking for ways to monetize my life through my multiple websites. The thing is, it’s easy to find people who will sell you their secret for $147 (but it’s on sale for you only today only for the low low price of $97! Act now!), but very hard to find people willing to share their ideas for free.
Turns out that you can Receive a Free Copy of "Flip Content for Profit!" if you click that link and download it now. It’s a free report all about taking already existing content and making money from it, and include sections about marketing your products for free, and also creating your own content that you can sell too.
For free, this is an amazing deal. I have paid good money for similar products with many fewer usable ideas than are in this free report. Even if you’re not an Internet marketer yet, you’ve got to admit that the allure of making money online is pretty attractive. Go sign up for the site, download the report, and get started already!
Since PayPerPost is still a very new company, and their system is still technically in beta, chenges happen quickly and frequently around that place. Fortunately, those fine folks at PayPerPost maintain a blog where they discuss any upcoming updates, relevant information, and the general goings on around the office.
The PPP Blog is not only a great source of useful information, it is also a great source for humor and madness. It turns out that the PPP staffers are just a little loopy (in a good way). There are some great videos from the staffers that anyone would love, some great pictures of PPP events, a wrap-up of their recent Christmas party, and even a post dispelling the rumors that posting for PPP will ruin your reputation with Google and friends.
So give it a try, read some of the great PPP blog posts and get excited about PayPerPost!
This December, I will be spending my PayPerPost money renewing some domain names and paying for another year of web hosting. Although this isn’t directly a “Christmas present” per se, it is an indirect present to the world.
You see, I allow certain people that I believe are doing the right thing and spreading a good message to host their websites on my server space for free. Not only is this a gift to those people, it is also a gift to the couple of hundred visitors that visit these sites everyday to get good information.
The crap that certain factions of our government are getting away with is preposterous, and I am more than happy to spend my PayPerPost money doing battle with them. Spending a few minutes per day blogging and posting some blog ads is well worth my time to expose the truth of what is going on in the world today. I’m at $1000 so far, and am making more every day, so the battle is not going to stop anytime soon.
I guess I have gone a little off topic, but this is indeed what my current PPP money is going to. It is a gift, and I am thankful for the opportunity that PPP has given me.
I have just launched a new website dedicated to teaching people how to make money online in a variety of different ways. In basic blog format, I will review and discuss the many ways that I am currently making money online. I will rate them on a scare of one to five stars on three categories, “Fast,” “Easy,” and “Money.”
The site is located at http://www.fasteasymoneyonline.info. I invite you to visit the site, and please let me know what you think. Any input, comments, criticism, whatever, is appreciated. Currently I’m working on the “Blogging for Dollars” series, which should be beneficial to bloggers everywhere.
I have been an Internet user since the good old days of text browsing in Lynx through my dial up connection. I have been developing websites for just about as long. Never until this year though, have I actually made my own websites in an effort to make money online.
In December of 2005, I launched my WritingUp.com blog, and shortly after that I launched my LiamFerris.com blog. The main idea behind these blogs was to reap the rewards of Google Adsense, which I quickly realized was not going to pay the bills.
Fortunately, a few months ago I came across PayPerPost, and actually started making money blogging. Incredible, I know. By no means is PayPerPost going to make me a multi millionaire, but the couple hundred extra dollars per month really helps keep the PayPal account stocked.
For the most part, my PayPerPost money helps pay for entertainment during the month, which makes me feel less guilty about the movies, dinners out, and whatever else we decide to do. Plus the motovation of a paycheck really helps me get motivated to write, which is allegedly what I enjoy doing…with the right encouragement, that is.
I highly recommend PayPerPost despite what a minority of jackasses is saying about it. Drop by their site, sign up your blog (or blogs) and start making some cash. And be sure and tell them Lpferris sent you. Thanks!
In an amazing feat that few mere mortals dare to attempt, Antonio the Master Impressionist will become Antonio the Human Catfish! Folks, this is a feat only to be attempted by the most fearless impressionist! Please do not try this at home (unless you’re a PayPerPost Postie and want to make your own catfish video)!
We ask for your silence and full attention while Antonio becomes…The Human Catfiiiiish!!
I have been blogging for almost a year now, and have to admit that the main reason that I started doing it was to make money online. I have been designing websites for a long time now, and have been making money at it, but hadn’t ever tried making money online for myself.
You may be a lot like I was at the beginning of the year, thinking how great it would be to make some cash online. Of course, there are thousands of e-books that you can buy that might help, but there are better ways to do it with no startup cost at all. Blogging is a great source of online income, and can be done for free, or for very little.
Blogitive, a company that pays bloggers to post about products or services, was the source of my first online dollar (OK, it was really five dollars). Ever since my first Blogitive post, I have been woring with them, and stand to make a decent profit this year just by writing.
Of course, you need to care for and nurture your blog, and need to qualify with Blogitive in order to get paid to blog, but once you get started it’s easy. They will also help you get qualified through referrals to resources that will help your page rank like FeedBurner.com and others. If you want to start making money online right now, check out Blogitive and make that first online dollar…er, five dollars, rather.
The RAZZ Mixer is a new web-based recording and sound effects application from razz.com. Not only does the RAZZ Mixer allow you to record your own audio from your computer microphone, it also has built-in sound effects that you can use to add humor or excitement to your recording morning radio show style.
I have to admit that despite my initial concern, I am really impressed with the RAZZ Mixer. First, it’s a fairly complex web app, which frequently translalates into “not Mac compatible.” I am happy to report that the RAZZ Mixer functioned perfectly in Safari, and allowed me to do everything that I wanted to with ease.
As a little aside, I might mention that the RAZZ Mixer can also be used to capture audio from any application on your computer. Just turn the gain up, hit record, and you’ll have audio from any audio source. This is great if you want to capture something that’s streaming or some other kind of audio from a non-saveable source. Pretty cool, especially for free.
