Wishes for Ted Kennedy

Although I may not always agree with Ted Kennedy on all of his ideas, he has definitely been an influential politician and has made a progressive difference in the history of the United States. I am sending good thoughts and wishes his direction, and hope that his brain tumor can be removed. I wish the best to him and to his family.

Now I’m just waiting to see what kind of offensive crap Bill O’FuckIt and friends can come up with to say tonight. I’m sure they’ll come up with some kind of tasteless commentary.

Holy warriors in the US armed forces

Not surprisingly, there are a number of fundamentalist Christian organizations trying to infiltrate the minds of our American soldiers. They show no mercy in preaching the word of the lord, and demanding that young soldiers believe in the gospel according to these freaks. For more information on the intimidation and freakishness that is going on, check out this video.

How to avoid an unclean bedroom

Unfortunately, Christian fundamentalists aren’t the only ones looking to invade the privacy of your bedroom. Turns out that bed bugs are also in the business of invading your bedroom and mattress and causing irritation. Although bed bugs aren’t actually dangerous, they can cause skin irritation.

Fortunately there are ways to kill bed bug, and there are some great resources to check out online. Don’t let these buggers ruin your good night’s sleep, check out BedBugsGuide.com today!

New School graduate Jean Sara Rohe on John McCain and the Politics of Fear

What else can I say about this, except that more people need to be like Ms. Rohe and open their eyes to the reality of the fearmongering that we’re fed on a daily basis. Don’t buy the hype, and think for yourself. And most of all, don’t be afraid to stand up to authority, especially when you know you’re right. This is truly a historical speech, and deserves a few minutes of your time.

FAQ on California same sex marriages

Now that the California Supreme Court has ruled that same-sex marriages are indeed legal in California, I’m sure there are plenty of questions on the minds of same-sex couples who want to finally get married. If you are part of a same sex couple, or if you’re just curious, Equality California has a great FAQ on same sex marriages in California.

I’m just glad that this went through, and that the Supreme Court made an educated and progressive decision. While the amount of right-wing religious nutballs against same sex marriage is minimal, their political influence is staggering. I’m glad that their closed-minded intolerance didn’t influence the Supreme Court to make a bad decision.

Congratulations to all my same sex couple friends!

Cheap web hosting: Points to ponder

If you don’t yet have a web host, or if you’re looking to change hosts, there are a number of things to keep in mind when you’re shopping around. WebHostRating.com has some great articles to help you through the process.

As a mainly political blogger, it’s imperative that my web host is reliable. I need to be able to log on and update my blog as news and events happen, and my ability to do that is directly impacted by the reliability of my host. This is a huge issue for many webmasters, so be sure and check into your potential host’s track record before signing up for an account.

Another issue when shopping for cheap web hosting is the overall customer experience. Having been a webmaster for a number of years, I know that it’s inevitable that you will need to contact your web host. And when that time comes, you want them to have fast and friendly customer service.

If you’re in the market for a web host, check out the articles at WebHostingRating.com.

Conservative talk radio host Kevin James slaughtered by Chris Matthews

Last night on Hardball, Chris Matthews absolutely slaughtered Los Angeles conservative talk radio host Kevin James for being ignorant on the facts behind President Bush’s insane rant in Israel this week. Matthews repeatedly asked Kevin James what exactly Neville Chamberlain did, to which James had no answer except for spewing loud political crap.

It was painfully obvious that Kevin James had no idea what he was talking about, but his mouth wouldn’t stop moving. I’m sure he got that tactic from his old lawyering days.

But as sad and painful (funny) as the video below is to watch, it speaks volumes about the state of today’s political commentators. They are largely uneducated as to what in the hell they’re really talking about, and merely follow the party line. And these are the people we get our political opinions from. It’s a sad, not to mention extremely dangerous, state of affairs.

Bin Laden encourages the liberation of Palestine… is there a problem with that?

I know that this post will most likely get me on the no-fly list, or at least the extra airport security check list, but fuck it. I really don’t care.

In Osama bin Laden’s latest address (which came in the form of a still image of him with an audio track), he discusses the situation in Palestine, and encourages Muslims to liberate Palestine from the Israeli occupiers. Obviously, at this point that would be a hell of a job. The Israeli lobby in the United States is insanely powerful, and as long as the neocons are in power Israel isn’t going anywhere.

In the address, however, bin Laden also talks about the unbelievable injustices that are done to Muslims in Palestine. The Israelis are not nice occupiers, and bulldoze houses in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip on a regular basis with no concern for the families and lives that they destroy in the process. Please bear in mind that they are not doing this within Israel - this is inside Palestine.

Sadly, just about everything that the mainstream media is reporting bin Laden as saying is not all that radical or off base. The Palestinians are being abused constantly, and the Zionists are not good people. The mainstream media would have you believe that bin Laden’s criticism of Zionists is antisemitic, but Zionists are distinctly different than the traditional everyday Jewish person.

Here’s a video that might help make more sense of the situation:

Olbermann to Bush: Shut the hell up!

If you haven’t yet seen Keith Olbermann’s special comment last night on Bush’s already-infamous Yahoo! interview, you really should check it out. It’s a classic, and speaks the exact words of millions of American patriots. I wish I could add something, but Keith really says it all.

Tracking training with a learning management system

In today’s world of online education and a growing need to provide employee training to increase productivity, the demand for reliable training and tracking systems has become quite significant.

A good training management software application will empower administrators and managers to easily organize and oversee their employees’ training. Conductor is a training management system that does just that.

A number of institutions are currently analyzing their learning management system, and are exploring their options. Other institutions that have not yet adopted a learning management system are also analyzing their options. If your institution is currently in this process, it would be well worth your time to check out Conductor. They have a free trial version available on their website. It is a fully functional 30-day free trial with no obligation to buy. That should give you plenty of time to analyze Condustor’s strengths, and to figure out exactly how it will fill your organization’s needs.
