More insight into Blackwater

OK, I’ll be done with this for now, but here’s one more Blackwater video for you to check out. I am truly amazed that their name is getting out there in the mainstream media, where it never really has before. Unfortunately the true and more sinister nature of the company is not being exposed, but hopefully people will be curious enough to do their own research. This truly is a nationally sanctioned mercenary corporation that fully supports BushCo and the freaky religious right, besides profiting from an unprovoked war.

Anyway, that’s enough from me. Take a look:

Looking for new appliances?

This is a sponsored post from Blogitive.com and Krillion.

Recently, consumer research has discovered that 75 percent of consumers looking for big ticket items, such as kitchen appliances, will do research online before making their purchase. And although search engines are great in general, research using standard keywords in search engines has proven to be less than helpful for many people.

That’s where Krillion comes in. Krillion offers consumers assistance through their Krillion Localization Engine™ that, in their words, “scours the Web to find, integrate and present actionable local search results for the ready-to-buy consumer.” Sounds like a great conumer research tool to me. Since its launch in February of 2007, Krillion has generated over 275 million pages of relevant local search results to scores of happy consumers who were able to find exactly what they needed in their own hometown (or at least nearby).

Joel Toledano, co-founder and CEO of Krillion, takes great pride in the fact that Krillion’s search results are actually “actionable” (a word he seems rather fond of, and understandably so). “Actionable” search results means that once a user finds the results they are looking for, they can literally hop in the car, go to a local store, and purchase their product.

So next time you’re looking for Kenmore Dishwashers or something of the sort, check out Krillion!

More creepiness about Blackwater

Just in case you haven’t heard enough from me about Blackwater today, let’s think about this. Blackwater is owned and run by a guy named Eric Prince, an ex-Navy Seal. Mr. Prince is also a staunch Bush supporter, and an intolerant Christian conservative.

Basically, what this means is that BushCo has a mercenary army at their disposal even after they are out of office. If you don’t believe me, take a look at the article at the Iraq for Sale film website on the people freaks behind Blackwater. Think about it, this is a truly disturbing situation that is not going to end in 2009.

Blackwater in the US

All this talk about Blackwater getting kicked out of Iraq has me going, so I’m just going to share all the information I can with you. This video is from The Nation, and is a brief synopsis of Blackwater. At the end, the narrator states that he even saw Blackwater vehicles and contractors in New Orleans after Katrina. These Blackwater mercenaries are deployed just about everywhere. The fact that no one can get any information about the company, and the fact that they are afforded impunity seems to indicate something shady going on at best.

And just imagine what horrid things they will be able to do with an extra 25,000 to 40,000 when they come back from being kicked out of Iraq. Now that is truly scary.

Time for a career change?

This is a sponsored post from Blogitive.com and Regency Beauty School.

Are you thinking about a career change? Or maybe even trying to decide what to do with your life? If you have ever considered beauty school, Regency Beauty School is a great choice.

Regency’s innovative training techniques include providing high-quality, discounted salon services to the public, so you get to work on real people while providing a service to those less fortunate.

“Our campuses mirror upscale salons and provide an exceptional education that benefits our students, the salon community, and the public,” says Hayes Batson, Regency’s president and CEO.

Besides doing a service to the community, Regency offers exciting placement options, including everything from cruise ships to salons. The experience that you gain at Regency Beauty School will set you well on your way to becoming a successful beautician.

It will be more of the same in 2009 if we don’t get educated now.

Speaking of Blackwater, our hometown Mormon Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney has been outed as being intimately connected to Blackwater. J. Cofer Black, the reported head of Romney’s counterterrorism policy advisory group appeared in a 2006 newscast identified as “Vice Chairman, Blackwater USA.”

If we, the American People, doin’t start giving a shit and getting educated, it’s going to be more of the same that we’ve got now. More occupations, more financial hemmoraging into war profiteer’s pockets, and more unprovoked war (Iran, anyone?). These people are in it together, trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

I fear that the excitement over Bush’s reign allegedly coming to an end has possibly blinded people to what may come after. Just assuming that the Democrats are going to take power doesn’t mean that things will be better. Most of them are not set on leaving Iraq. They are in love with the word “win” just like the Republicans. And if we’re going to “win” the Iraq war, guess whose pockets we’re going to keep pumping money into even after Bush is gone. That’s right - Blackwater and Halluburton. The same scoundrels as before.

Police state? No way! (Yes way.)

Are you scared of the cops? Are you scared of your government? Yeah, me too.

If you’re not, consider this. Use of tasers in police work has increased at an alarming rate, and is not beign questioned by anyone. In fact, the only reason this has become apparent to the average citizen - sadly, the average citizen probably doesn’t even recognize this alarming trend - informed citizen, I should say, is because of LiveLeak and the prevalence of camcorders and cell phone video cameras.

Blackwater is fucked…hopefully.

Although it’s not making huge headlines, Blackwater may be in a lot of trouble. In case you’re not familiar with the name, Blackwater is one of the largest civilian security companies in the United States. Essentially it’s a corporation that provides mercenaries, and whose employees have been providing support for the United States occupation of Iraq since the beginning.

This week, Blackwater employees opened fire at random after one a mortar shell went off near their convoy. They ended up killing eleven Iraqi civilians, and really pissing off the government and citizens in the process. Apparently (and not surprisingly) this isn’t the first time this has happened, and the Iraqi government will begin investigations into Blackwater and other security firms operating in Iraq.

It just seems insane to me that these mercenary organizations even exist, much less that they’re employed by our government. As if our relationship with Iraq wasn’t bad enough, here we are sending highly paid soldiers of fortune over there to give us a bad name. Of course BushCo’s expectations and timelies aren’t being met in Iraq, when we have incidents like this and people like this representing us. Our presence in Iraq is hindering progress and not helping at all, which is exactly what the war profiteers like Blackwater and Halliburton want.

This is not a war. This is not a war on terror. This is an occupation, and is further lining the pockets of the already filthy rich. We should be absolutely outraged.

A little taste of intolerance

As many of you probably know, for some reason Orange County, CA is a haven for skinheads and other types of intolerant folks. Of course, OC has its share of fine people, but there’s a plethora of religious freaks and intolerant assholes too.

So last night my wife and I were driving to get some ice cream. As we were leaving the parking lot, a late-90’s model Toyota RAV-4 comes screaming into the parking lot. As it passes us, we can’t help but notice that it’s flying an enormous Confederate flag, and is filled with high school aged skinheads.

Now I know that me being intolerant of people expressing themselves is intolerant in itself. And I acknowledge that. But racists are some of the worst scum of the earth, especially the ones who pride themselves on it.

But here’s the funny thing. Didn’t these assholes understand that they were driving a Japanese car? Stupid idiots.
