Surprise, surprise: Terrorist “dry runs” were a hoax.

You may remember a few weeks ago that CNN reported “dry runs” that were being conducted by terrorists in the United States. One of the “dry runs” occured in San Diego. TSA agents at the San Diego Airport stopped a lady at the security check point who had in her bag some ice packs covered in plastic that had clay inside of them. Turns out, they were just old style ice packs for her back pain. Of course, the alarmist, fear mongering mainstream media jumped on it (as did the TSA), and called it a “dry run” for a future terrorist plot.

I don’t have much else to say about this, other than don’t believe everything you’re told. Especially when it comes from the mainstream media and it applies to terrorism. Check out the video here:

More smoke and mirrors from the MSM

In the ever increasing effort to force the American People to forget that their government is corrupt beyond belief, and that their fellow citizens are being killed on a huge level thousands of miles away in a war that we can’t afford, Yahoo! has come through again. After the Yahoo! top story this morning about the drunk astronauts, they have managed to come through again.

This time there’s a picture of a cargo ship and incoherent talk of cargo containers containing nuclear warheads…or something. Read this (an exact quote) and let me understand if you know what the fuck they are talking about:

Congress sends 9/11 bill to Bush
The container ship, Marie Marsk, is loaded with containers on the docks of Port Elizabeth in Elizabeth, N.J., in this Dec. 18, 2006 file photo. The specter of a nuclear bomb, hidden in a cargo container, detonating in an America port has prompted Congress to require 100 percent screening of U.S.-bound ships at their foreign starting point. But critics say screening 11 million containers every year is unfeasible and does little to make the nation safer. (AP Photo/Mike Derer, File)

Please explain to me what “The specter of a nuclear bomb, hidden in a cargo container, detonating in an America port” means in English. Because I don’t understand. All I do know is that this is a thinly veiled effort to remind the American People that we are living in a fearsome world. Around every corner is a terrorist, just waiting to blow someone up just because they hate our freedom. And apparently, they have nukes and access to cargo ships.

Yahoo!, I would dump your start page quicker than a dirty diaper if it weren’t for the fact that I get endless amusement from the mockery of journalism that is your top story.

Start your own vending business

This is a sponsored post from Blogitive.com and Vendstar.

If you’re looking to start a home based business that can help you build a passive income, you may want to check out vendstar. Vendstar offers not only affordable vending machines, but more importantly offers Americans a great opportunity to achieve their dream of financial freedom.

Vendstar has been in business since 1990, and has become one of the leading bulk candy vending machine manufacturers in the United States. In 2003, Vendstar has established a worldwide presence, and has added nearly 9,000 members to their profitable vending family. Despite this huge surge of growth, Vendstar’s customers still have no problem finding room for expansion and growth in the vending industry.

Unlike many home based businesses, vending is fairly inexpensive to get into, and is 100% cash based. There’s no waiting for customers to pay, and no unpaid invoices. Besides that, many home based businesses do not bring with them any passive income at all. Vending, however, brings with it an approximately 80% profit margin, and most of it is passive.

If you have been thinking about going into business for yourself, check out Vendstar. It may be exactly what you’re looking for.

Their hypocrisy knows no bounds

In possibly the most hypocritic move of the 21st Century, the Bush Administration has issued a subpoena to Michael Moore in regards to his visit to Cuba during the filming of his latest film, SiCKO.

After spending the last few weeks denying multiple subpoenas from Congress, I am shocked that the Bush Administration can pretend like a subpoena actually means anything anymore. Actually, I’m not shocked. Just extremely bothered by the Administration’s double standard.

Even more disturbing is the fact that this is a direct attempt to stifle real investigative journalism. Michael Moore researched and filmed an excellent and damning exposá on our pathetic excuse for a healthcare system, and this is what he gets.

Hopefully, Michael Moore will take this opportunity to have a productive conversation with the folks who are really screwing the American People. Unfortunately I fear that this may be his ticket to take a peek at the inside of Guantanamo, instead of just checking it out from outside. I truly hope not.

Sure Gonzales is a fucking liar…but check this out!

In their infinite wisdom, the manstream media has come through once again with their classic tactic of distracting the public from what is really important. Today, the top headline on my Yahoo! start page is this:

Panel: Astronauts flew after drinking

If this isn’t a case of distracting the public from what really matters, I’m not sure what is. Isn’t Congress planning to issue contempt citations? Isn’t the Department of (IN)Justice planning on not enforcing the citations? Isn’t there a major Constitutional shitstorm brewing between Congress and the White House? Am I missing something here, or does no one give a shit about some drunk astronauts?

If you think I’m being alarmist, and am overinflating the situation, you should really read the article. There is absolutely no meat to it at all. For example:

The report said it happened twice but gave no names and did not say when the drinking occurred, how many astronauts were involved, or whether they were flying on the space shuttle, the Russian Soyuz spaceship, or aboard NASA’s training jets.

This article says absolutely nothing, except that an independant panel thinks that some astronauts had been drinking prior to some kind of flight or training mission. Who gives a fuck?

It’s yet another case of our media not doing its job. Once again, the mainstream media has proven that it is just a tool of those looking to exert their power over the American People. Like Danny Elfman said, “It’s 1984, but we’ve been here before.”

Business VoIP phone service

This is a sponsored post from Blogitive.com and Xpander Communications.

If you run a small business (or a business of any kind) and haven’t yet looked in hosted PBX small business VoIP phone systems, you are selling yourself short. Xpander Communications offers some great VoIP options for businesses, and can most likely help you save money on your phone service.

Besides saving you money, Xpander Communications’ products are quite user friendly. This is largely due to their emphasis on simplicity, reduced costs, and drastically reduced maintenance. Even if your company is spread out across the country, Xpander Communications can help you unify your office with simple and free four-digit extension dialing across all of your offices. That in itself can save you a bundle on long distance charges.

Even better than all of that, Xpander Communications will not leave you high and dry after your VoIP system is installed. Xpander offers their customers unlimited free service & support, which can also save you a huge amount of money. Any company that stands behind their product like that is good by me.

So take a look at Xpander’s VoIP systems. They may very well be just the right thing for your company.

Finding your passion

I’m going a little off topic here, but this is something that has been on my mind a lot lately and I thought it would be worth blogging about. It’s about finding your passion and making a living at it.

As many of you know, my full time job is as a web designer and tech support guy. It’s an interesting job, and I don’t hate getting out of bed in the morning to go to work. I have been around computers since I was five, and I’m completely comfortable working with them. I am also patient to a fault, and have no problem spending insane amounts of time explaining to people exactly what I’m doing or how to do what they need to do with their computers. So it’s a good match for me as a career choice. But it is not my passion.

I have a few things that I am passionate about. The most important is my marriage. I am passionate about making my marriage a happy one, and making it work for the long term. It’s my main priority on life. Obviously that’s not an option as a career, so let’s move on to the next one.

My second passion is Halloween. I love visiting and creating haunted houses (both man made and naturally occuring…if that makes any sense). I love the technology that goes into all the stuff back stage. I love the creepy environments that can be created with just some fog, lighting, props, and a few good actors. I love imagining the next great prop, and spending time figuring out how to accomplish the effect that I desire. Most importantly, I love the guests’ reactions – the screams, gasps, and laughs that a good haunt elicits are a wonderful reward for the hard work that goes into the production. If I had the means, that would be my full time job.

Another passion of mine is disseminating important information. I have a passionate distaste for the way that the mainstream media chooses to hide and skew information that people need to understand their world. I feel that if I can get even a fraction of that information out to a fraction of the population, I will have accomplished something, and made the world at least a slightly better place. Currently I accomplish this with this blog, but would love to have the resources to truly disseminate information on a larger scale.

My last passion, and probably the key to solving this riddle, is real estate. I love the thrill of finding a deal. I like to think I’m pretty good at dealing with people. And I love the opportunity for lifelong passive income that real estate investing can provide. It’s just a matter of breaking into the field and making it work for me on my terms.

It sounds to me like I have this puzzle figured out, but need to put the wheels in motion. I need to get off the couch and just do it. But think about it yourself. What’s your passion, and how can you make it your life?

Online Halloween resources

In an effort to help out the beginning haunter, and to share some of my online haunts (haha, get it….”haunts”…yeah, not that funny. OK) with my readers, I will periodically post different online resources that I use on a regular basis.

The first in the series is The Haunted Report, one of the few haunt industry blogs out there. The Haunted Report is located at www.hauntedreport.com. It is updated regularly with great information for haunt fans and haunters alike. I have its RSS feed in my Yahoo! start page, and recommend that you do the same.

Contact your representatives!

If you are as outraged as I am after reading George W. Bush’s Executive Order: Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq, you need to contact your representatives. That’s what they are there for. To make it easier, I added an action alert to my page at RallyCongress.com. The letter is prewritten (but you can add and edit the letter if you want to), all you need to do is type in your address and send it. DO IT NOW.

RallyCongress: Ask Your Senators And Representatives To Question George Bush’s Executive Order

Besides that, we really do need to impeach these fuckers. I have written a letter to that effect too, follow this link to send your reps a letter about that too.

Take action, friends! Together, we patriots can save the country.
