Hawaii summer vacation options for you

This is a sponsored post from Blogitive.com and Gebhart Properties.

It’s summer, which means that it’s time to spend as much time at the beach as possible. And what better place than Hawaii to spend time at the beach?

Gebhart Properties has established a whole new website dedicated to helping you find Hawaii vacation rentals in some of the most exclusive places of Hawaii. For example, if you’re looking for a swanky Maui Vacation Rental to hang out at for the summer, Gebhart Properties new website should be your first stop.

The properties that Gebhart Properties manages offer luxuries that many of even the finest hotels don’t offer. Hale Nani Loa Maka, located at the Waikoloa Beach Resort, is a 3BR/3BA penthouse over 2500 square feet, and sleeps six. You can’t find that at even the nicest Hawaii hotels. For more information call 1-800-545-5151, or visit http://www.gebhartproperties.com.

More new stuff

In my recent effort to improve my blog, I have recently signed up with a company called Kontera. Kontera has a script that I added to my blog that will identify certain keywords and link them to relevant Kontera advertisers. Not only will this hopefully bring me some money (call me a sellout, but I know you like money just as much as I do), but more importantly it will link my readers to relevant products and websites that should be of interest to them.

Any feedback, good or bad, on your experiences with Kontera would be much appreciated. Thanks for your patience with all these recent changes, I’m working hard to make my blog that much better for everyone. Next change will be my navigation bar, hopefully in the next week or so depending upon how much time I have.

The extremely sad state of American “journalism”

Yesterday morning when every news pimp in the United States was covering Paris Hilton’s triumphant escape from jail, MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski refused multiple times to report the story. Her producer had positioned the story as the lead, and she flat out refused to talk about it. For this, I strongly applaud her. There were many way more important events to report other than some rich bitch getting released from jail, and Ms. Brzezinski’s efforts to report those stories is commendable.

The sad part about this display of rationality and strength to fight for what she thought was right is that her two male co-anchors mocked her incessantly, and didn’t lend her completely logical point any credibility at all. More often than not, when a person voices their opinion against what is obviously wrong as Ms. Brzezinski did, their peers mock them instead of supporting them.

It is truly pathetic when so called respected journalists mock their counterpart for actually reporting the real news. Or trying to anyway. Mika Brzezinski did not give up though, and other than some brief footage of Paris leaving jail, the story did not get any coverage.

Off to the hills

Today I venture into the hills to be a mountain man for the weekend. Shotguns, beers (not together with the shotguns of course), fishing, and beers are on the agenda, and that’s about it. Should be a good time, a much needed break from reality.

A good friend sent me a great article on Bush’s European Vacation (thanks Bev!), which I really want to share and comment on when I get back next week. So stay tuned and I’ll update you with more news on the embarrassment that is our President. For the next 18 months. Someone help us. Please. Oh, and have a good weekend.

Where did this new look come from?

So by now I hope you have come to embrace the new look of my blog. I’m pretty happy with it, but that’s irrelevant…it’s all about what YOU, my readers, like.

Even billionaires think the US is screwed

I think that when billionaires start saying that the US is in trouble, maybe we should start paying attention. While visiting the Google campus in Mountain View, CA, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said specifically that the United States is in trouble, and that the alleged “debates” that have been held lately have little similarity to reality.

I have to be honest. I have not followed Michael Bloomberg at all, and pretty much all I know of him is that he’s got a ton of money and is the mayor of New York. Oh, and he’s got that Bloomberg TV channel and maybe some magazines. I blame it in Giuliani…just knowing that Michael Bloomberg is mayor os New York turned me off to him. Turns out that he seems like a pretty decent fellow, just based on what I read in the article linked above.

But who really cares what is behind Bloomberg’s curtain? I’m no fan of authority, but when someone with the financial and political clout that Michael Bloomberg holds starts saying that we’re fucked, maybe we really are. Think about it.

Yes, it’s me!

Before you panic, loyal visitor, yes, this is still LiamFerris.com! I have decided it’s time for a new look for the site. I’m getting bored with the old black and white basic theme, and it’s time to spice things up a bit. Any feedback is appreciated.

I may try out a few different themes over the next few days, so don’t worry. You’re in the right place.

Same Liam Ferris, same cynical attitude, same foul mouth. You know you love it.
