I was just watching “Why We Fight” today for the second time, and was once again stricken with the well spoken and intelligent Karen Kwiatkowski. Although she aligns with the Libertarian point of view, which I only partially agree with, her insight into what is going on in our government today is valuable for anyone willing to listen with an open mind.
Karen Kwiatkowski is a retired Air Force colonel who has first hand knowledge of exactly what goes on in the shady halls of the Pentagon. In fact, before she retired she worked in the Pentagon before, on, and after 9/11/2001. She knows exactly what our current regime is up to and why, and is not at all scared to talk about it.
Since I can’t really offer any information not available at other online resources, I’m just going to offer a few links to Colonel Kwiatkowski’s writing and to her Wikipedia entry. Check her out, she really will open your mind. In fact, her writing is perfect for my Meet In the Middle idea. She can open up your mind without conspiracy theories that alot of people just can’t handle yet, but still outs the evil tendencies of the Bush Regime.

I am absolutely sick of the crappy, unedited writing that makes its way onto major news websites. I’m not sure what kind of jackholes places like CNN and ABC have writing for them, but damn is there some crap out there.
For example, today’s main headline on ABC7.com (ABC’s Los Angeles affiliate) was “Police Investigating Fatal Accident, 1 Dead.” OK, that’s fine. Let’s move on.
First of all, there is no location mentioned in the whole article, other than “Baseline and California.” I can only assume that they’re talking about somewhere around Rancho Cucamonga or something, but have no way to know that for sure. Haven’t newspapers been putting a location at the beginning of their articles for at least 100 years? How hard is it to translate that to the web?
Second, let’s talk about spelling. The very first sentence in the story is “An inncocent bi-standard is dead this morning following what police believe was a street race that veered into oncoming traffic.”
Now I don’t know about you, but I have no idea what the hell a “bi-standard” is. I would even argue that not even the best spell checker in the world hass any idea what a bi-standard is. Looking a little closer, we realize that there wasn’t a spell checker anywhere near this article. Just the use of the word “inncocent” proves that much.
I am not a spelling genius, and I am not the best about editing and correcting the spelling mistakes on this here blog. But this blog also isn’t run by a billion dollar corporation, and I’m not getting paid a nice salary to write articles that get featured on the front page unlike this jackhole at ABC7.com.
Yes, it’s petty. But I’m a little pissed that I spent five years in a creative writing program and some jackhole is writing shoddy web copy. At least I can find solace in the fact that “the thrid driver is being questioned.”
I just finished watching the movie Death of a President, and am truly impressed and disturbed. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a fictitious documentary about the assassination in October 2007 of a certain US President that you may be acquainted with (see you tonight, Secret Service…I’m talking about a movie, idiots).
In it there are fictitious interviews with White House staff, FBI agents, and many other folks involved with the President. In addition there are interviews with the families directly affected by the assassination.
Unfortunately I can’t really say too much more about the plot without giving it away. I will say though that it’s a surprisingly realistic interpretation of what such an event would produce in the media and in the prosecution of the assassin. So accurate from my standpoint that it was truly shocking and disturbing.
If you haven’t seen it, it really should be on your rental list. Or in your Netflix queue.

My aunt just sent me a link to the openeing section of Lee Iacocca’s new book Where Have All the Leaders Gone?. For an 82 year old guy, he sure is a progressive thinker. Even better, since he is 82, he has no qualms about making his opinions clear, and boy is he pissed.
I can’t blame him either, I am pissed for the same reasons. Why is it that no one in this country (sorry, very few) is willing to stick their neck out and say what they’re really thinking? We’re letting OUR government (yes, OUR government…THEY work for US) make changes that none of us like, and we sit here and take it like we can’t do anything about it.
A perfect example is the recent Supreme Court abortion decision. Who was in favor of that? Who was behind it? That’s right, a small minority of extremist Christians who for some reason (ahem…GWB) have this insane amount of pull in Washington right now. But who the fuck is going to stand up and should “THAT AIN’T FUCKING RIGHT!” No one, that’s who. They love their cushy jobs in Washington, and don’t want to sacrifice those few votes they will lose by not having their voices heard. Although it could be argued too that they’re scared of being taken out Alexander Litvinenko style. But when did the loss of a few stupid votes, or even the fear of violent opposition, stop the great American leaders of the past? Not until very recently, and it’s disgusting.
As happy as I am with the recently elected Democratic majority in Congress, I say we need to clean house. Let’s get some new blood in there. Let’s get people who know and respect who they work for (that’s US, the American People) in there, people who are willing to do what it takes to make America great again without fear of losing votes or pissing off the Christians. Who’s with me? (Crickets…)
The pool noodle build out is proceeding as planned. I have cut the pieces to fit, but need to glue the PVC skeleton together before permanently affixing the foam. Once the foam is secured, the fake fur and maybe some paper mache will come into the picture and hopefully make this guy looks like what he’s supposed to look like. We’ll see…hehe. Anyone have any great ideas on attaching fake fur to pool noodles?

Addiction is one of the most prevalent health crises going on in the United States today. We hear almost about every week, heck almost every day, about some celebrity going into rehab lately. Addiction can break up families and lives, but rehab in many cases can help prevent those awful repurcussions.
Like Stone Hawk says on their website, drug and alcohol addiction is a no win situation for every addict, and for every person who interacts with the addict. That doesn’t mean that people addicted to drugs and alcohol are bad people, they just suffer from a disease that is widely present in our modern society. In fact, many of our societal ills can be traced directly to drug addiction.
Stone Hawk has a drug addiction treatment program that sounds pretty amazing. Just from the pictures, their facility looks like a beautiful place to work through the detox process. Besides that, Stone Hawk also offers a number of articles on addiction available for free on their website. I always respect sites that give away that kind of information for free. And not that some article is going to help cure addiction, but it can certainly help start the process, and hel families and friends understand what the addict is going through.
I have hated John Bolton for quite some time now. His stint as UN Ambassador defined George Bush’s attitude toward the UN and toward collaboration and discussion of issues with other countries. Thankfully Bolton’s stint at the UN didn’t do nearly as much damage as it could have had a Democratic Congress not gained power, but he still fucked us pretty good.
Bolton was on The Daily Show a few weeks ago. Needless to say, he turned my stomach, but not nearly as badly as I had hoped he would. Fortunately, the BBC did an interview with him recently that has been posted on YouTube. These eight minutes really prove what a narrow minded neocon jackass Bolton really is. Take a look:
