Will wonders never cease?

Wow…my cheap ass employer and the union that represents me finally came to a tentative agreement for our 2007 contract. I mean yeah, it only took 4 months and a hell of a lot of cheapness from the Chancellor’s office and the board of trustees. The union still hasn’t announced the details, but they should be announced in the next week or so. Awesome, maybe I’ll actually get a raise. It’s a damn miracle.

PayPerPost…I got paid!

I have been a PayPerPost “Postie” for almost two months now, and am extremely happy with how it has been going. I found out about PayPerPost.com from someone on WritingUp.com, and joined with my personal blog.

At first, PPP seemed too good to be true. All I had to do was pick an opportunity, write about the product or service, post the opportunity, write a new original blog post, pick a new opportunity, and repeat. Three PPP posts a day, and my income has increased by a significant amount. In my first month, I made over $300, and in my second I should be well on my way to $400. To put it in perspective, my employer (ahem, CSU system…suck it, Chancellor Reed) is barely offering me a $100 per month raise this year. Obviously, I am extremely happy with my PayPerPost experience so far.

At first, I have to admit that I was concerned about that first payment. I am happy to report that the first payment was posted right at midnight, and the next day’s payment was actually posted a day early, just a few minutes after the first one. That was awesome.

And lastly, not only does PPP make me money, but it also encourages me to write more. This was a goal of mine for 2006, and it has really worked out nicely, largely with PPP’s financial encouragement.

The K-Fed/Rose Connection

Does anyone else think that Axl Rose and Kevin Federline could very well be the same person? I mean, they both look about the same (although Axl is obviously older and has ahd more plastic surgery….ahhhh, snap!) with the scruffy thing going on and all. Plus both of them are vying for the title of “most hated person in the music industry,” so they can connect on that level.

I don’t know though, take a look and see what you think. These aren’t the best examples, but you’ll see the resemblance, I’m sure.

Discount trips to London

I love London. Even though I have only been there once, I spent about a week and a half there and loved every minute of it. Even though I was there in the middle of the coldest winter in 40 years, it was stil awesome.

Unfortunately with our weak dollar, and the strong Pound, it’s pretty expensive for we Americans to visit the UK. That’s why sites like LondonNights.com that offer tips on Discount London Hotels are the perfect way to plan trps to the UK.

Not only does LondonNights.com offer discounted hotel rates, they also allow you to book your hotel online, offer reviews of hotels, have information about London in general, and also offer a list in the right hand column of the best current hotel rates.

Moustache man…

Yap, as of Saturday, I have a moustache. One week with this bad boy, just gotta keep it until the last Halloween party on November 4th. Maybe by then I’ll be attached and just decide to keep it. Hehe…

TechCrunch does it again…

For some reason, Mike Arrington has a personal vendetta against the PayPerPost.com business model of paying bloggers to write about certain products or services in their blogs. It’s like he thinks that paid blogging is a sin of some sort, but in reality it’s a great way for bloggers to make some extra cash for doing what they love.

Anyway, this time Mr. Arrington is bitching about PPP’s new DisclosurePolicy.org framework. PPP just launched DisclosurePolicy.org, which provides an automated disclosure policy for anyone’s blog in a few simple steps. Based upon Mr. Arrington’s past gripes, it seems to me that this is a great way to address the sometimes covert nature of certain PPP advertisers’ post requests. Of course, it would be too easy to appease Mr. Arrington just by paying bloggers to post a disclosure policy in a standard format that any blog reader can understand and easily find. That would make too much sense.

I honestly feel that Mr. Arrington is upset that the little guy, like me, can make actual money by doing what we love. No matter what PPP does, little Mikey is going to be 100% against it. I’m almost at the point of thinking that Mr. Arrington is on the PPP payroll just to make a stink and get PPP some extra publicity from a different angle…hehe. (Sorry Ted.) ;^)

Another weekend over and done…

I can’t believe the weekend is already over. Sunday night is always so depressing, just knowing that the nice relaxing weekend that you have just enjoyed is over, and it’s back to work early tomorrow morning. Ah well, I guess that’s how it goes.

I must say though that it was an excellent weekend. Two pumpkin carving parties and a huge blowout Halloween bash last night made this weekend quite worthwhile. Also, I got to shave my beard and create the moustache that has been in the works for the past month and a half. It turned out awesome, although I am a bit nervous about going to work with my funky hillbilly moustache all week. They’ll get a good chuckle I suppose. I’ll post pics later.

I hope everyone else’s weekend was good too. Happy Monday, everyone!

The Del Taco Jalapeno Burger Scramble

On our way home last night from arguably the best Halloween party ever, Meghan and I stopped by Del Taco for a midnight snack. I picked up the new Jalapeno Burger, but by the time we got home I was more interested in sleep than food. So into the fridge the burger went.

This morning while laying in bed, I had an epiphany. I decided that the burger would make an excellent scramble, and would serve as my breakfast. The recipe is quite simple, and delightfully delicious.

I cut the burger in half, then cut that half into bite-size chunks. I thre those in the frying pan with some olive oil and let it heat up for a few minute while I got the eggs ready. I beat two eggs together with some milk, then added that to the burger in the frying pan. I then added some Del Scorcho sauce and scrambled it all together until the eggs were done.

I know it sounds weird, but I really think the the burger breakfast scramble is the next big thing. Give it a try next time you’re looking for an original breakfast treat.
