This is so cool!! I have been waiting 30 days for this, and every single one has been worth it! I just received my first PayPal payment from PayPerPost.com! How cool is that? Cash money in my PayPal account, all for just blogging and adding linked keywords to certain blog entries. This is badass. I am so stoked right now, and all for only $12. The best part is, now that I know this is the real deal, I’m going to post my three paid posts a day EVERY day!
So yeah, anyone skeptical of PayPerPost, this is the real deal. Go sign up now! And don’t forget to tell them I sent you!
If you have ever thought about building your own real life log cabin like the ones you used to build out of Lincoln Logs as a kid, there are many things to keep in mind besides just worrying about your little brother knocking down your house. Log Homes are an entirely different animal from other real estate, but are a great housing solution in the right situations. If you’re interested in more information check out aboutloghomes.com, it’s a great resource for financing, building, and all sorts of other information on log homes.
I know it seems like I’m all over the place today, but I have to vent. As you may or may not know, I am the webmaster for a college at a major University. I support 24 departments, the college, and a number of other programs and groups. Today, one of the departments in the college approached me about hiring an outside consultant to redesign their website. Basically, I’m pissed.
Not only do we already have these resources in-house and paid for, but even if they do hire an outside company I still end up doing as much work coordinating the project as I would if I were doing it myself. As much as the people in charge understand this, education is such a bullshit game of politics that they need to do all they can to keep the important people happy. Unfortunately the important people are not me.
What really pisses me off about this is that the…ahem…”system” if you will, that the university is in, is constantly bitching about how little money they have. Staff members are getting a pitiful 2% raise (if that) this year, and one department in one college has $10,000 to pay some outside consultant to build them a website. Where does this make sense? I just cant figure it out. And honestly, since it’s part of my tax money going toward this effort, that pisses me off.
Anyway, sorry for the rants today, for some reason I’m a little bit off. I’m not even that upset in general really, just feeling kind of funky.
In 2003 when I bought my MINI Cooper, my ever brilliant wife convinced me to add the built-in satellite navigation option to the car. I thought it would be cool, but never realized how addicted I would become to it. I absolutely love the act that I never get lost anymore, can find the closest fast food, ATM, gas station, MINI dealer, shopping center, or freeway entrance. When we went houseboating over the summer, my friend Cory bought a Magellan handheld satellite navigation unit that helped guide us through Lake Mead beautifully. Basically I have become entirely reliant upon satellite navigation.
If I have already lost you, maybe I should mention what exactly satellite navigation is. Sat Nav uses Global Positioning Satellites to calculate where you are to within a few yards and display the information on an electronic map displayed on the screen. These satellites have been used by the military for quite some time, and have recently become accessible to the public through handheld devices and in-car devices. Companies like Garmin and TomTom are putting this technology in the hands of the consumer in very affordable and portable units.
Retailers like Currys are making a wide range of products available to the public online. Currys carries a wide variety of dat nav units for just about every budget. Besides fitting most budgets, Currys offers every kind of unit, from ones with basic functionality to hard core geo-tracker (Google that if you’re interested) types who need all the bells and whistles.
If you are interested in joining the sat nav revolution, check out sat nav from currys and you’ll easily find a product that will suit your lifestyle and sat nav needs.
Prople of America, what in the fuck is our problem? Why are we so angry? Why don’t we have better ways to express it and get the bad feelings out than doing it violently? Can’t we be a little more creative?
My point is, that guy in Colorado and other people who have to commit violence against other people and ruin lives give us Americans a bad name. Why are we the only country that has freaky motherfuckers like that?
Look, I’m pissed off too. I’m pissed that I have to work my ass off to make ends meet. I’m pissed that I don’t get paid what I’m worth. I’m really pissed that our government kills their own citizens and lies about it while stealing our hard earned money. But you know what? I don’t fucking kill people! I write. I make websites. I spread what I know to be the Truth. I donate my time to worthwhile causes. That’s how I get my aggressions out.
Think about it America. Let’s try to be a little more constructive and work on making this country a better place instead of killing people. Seriously, how fucking hard is it?
Today, September 27, 2006, the PayPerPost team stormed the Today Show and inundated the airwaves with PPP shirts and banners. In the process, they got some great airtime and free advertiing for PPP.
What an awesome way to spread the word about an awesome idea…I have been PayPerPosting for 29 days (first payday tomorrow, by the way!), and I love it so far. Since I am admittedly completely money motivated, PPP has really helped me grow my blog and get excited about blogging again.
If you want to read all about their ballsy and commendable Guerilla Marketing efforts this morning, and see the video, check out the PPP blog. Oh, and while you’re there be sure and sign up…and don’t forget to tell them that I sent you.
By the way, another reason that you may want to get in on the action now rather than later is that there is a big PPP announcement coming next week…could they be coming out of beta? Having a little baby PPP? Buying out Microsoft? What could it be? Dammit PayPerPost, did I really need another reason to check you every chance I get? You already hog up enough of my time, is it really necessary to hog u the rest of it too? This better be good. Jerks.
At the beginning of 2006, I decided that my Bachelor’s Drgree in Creative Writing should be put to use (six years after the fact), and that 2006 would be the year that I start getting paid to write. I am VERY happy to report that I have been successful in that venture. Not overly successful, mind you - I’m not quite going to quit my job to write just yet - but I have succeeded in making some money writing, largely thanks to AssociatedContent.
Anyway, my newest article was just published, and I wanted to share it with my friends and fans (haha, fans). It’s all about Halloween events in the L.A. and O.C. area for 2006, which you well know is my favorite time of the year. Anyway, check it out:
All of you already know that I enjoy a number of odd and non-mainstream pastimes, and that I enjoy sharing those pastimes and the information gained from them, with all of you fine people. The interesting information that I want to share with you includes shamanism, symbolism, Freemasons, drugs, and the background of all moderm religions.
About twelve years ago I read some of Carlos Castaneda’s books about his interactions with a Mexican shaman named Don Juan. Even though I understood and enjoyed the books on a basic level, I didn’t comprehend the extent of their importance and meaning until a few years later. This year, I was introduced to the work of a modern day Carlos Castaneda named Jan Irvin. Jan is not only a great and knowledgable guy and a good friend of a friend of mine, he is also well versed in many different (but interconnected) subjects ranging from Freemasonry to etheneogenic mushrooms.
Jan Irvin and Andrew Rutajit run a website called Gnostic Media, located at www.gnosticmedia.com. Jan also runs a website about industrial hemp located at www.TheHemperor.com.
If you are at all interested in getting to the bottom of what the hell is going on in the world today, and what the forces are that are driving our world (not to mention the forces that we must fight against to regain our freedom), both of those websites are great resources. Their subject matter gets pretty deep, and it’s easy to get lost, but the forum members and webmasters are very helpful if you are willing to ask.
Many webmasters (and other Internet addicts) tend to have a habit of collecting domain names. I am as guilty as the next webmaster, and my GoDaddy account is full of great ideas represented by domain names that may very well never see the light of the Internet. Don’t tell me you’re any different, because I know you’re not.
If you have been collecting domain names, and are sick of paying the renewal fees associated with maintaining all of your names, you might think about trying to sell them. There are plenty of people on the Internet looking for the perfect domain names, and websites like DealASite.com are more than willing to help you sell.
Likewise, if you have a great idea and need the perfect domain name, check out DealASite and see if you can find just what you need. Great deals are there for all.
I’d love to keep chatting about DealASite, but I have some domain names to list!
